Now is the time

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability globally, but it is one that often goes unseen.

In September 2025, world leaders will gather in New York for the 4th United Nations High-Level Meeting on Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) to agree a health agenda towards 2050.

Despite being a leading contributor to the global NCD burden has been overlooked in health policy for decades. The Global Stroke Action Coalition, an alliance of scientific, civil society and industry organizations, is committed to putting stroke on the forward NCD agenda by raising awareness and demonstrating the potential for action on stroke to unlock progress on NCD targets.

The time has come to act on stroke.
